Philosophy QVC December 4th Today’s Special Value Review

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on December 14, 2010

If you recall, a few weeks ago I posted that I had put my order in for the December 4th Philosophy Today’s Special on QVC.  Let me just tell you, I am sooooo glad that I ordered this set.  I am over the moon about it.

Philosophy’s Falling In Love fragrance is one of my absolute favorite fragrances.  It is so sweet and romantic.  I am not really a fan of florals and musks.  So it’s no surprise that I selected the TSV in the Falling In Love fragrance.  I’m a fan of the “Graces” too, but none of them are as divine as FIL, in my humble opinion.  Since I already knew what Falling In Love smells like the fragrance was not the surprise in this kit, it was the packaging.

Let me just tell you, it is stunning.  The outer box features a graphic of glitter running along the bottom.  The box is kept shut with an elegant black ribbon.  When you open the box, you are greeted with generous sized bottles of product secured by elegant black velvet (or some kind of velvet look-a-like) covered foam.  The glitter theme continues onto the products.  Each of the bottles of body butter and shower gel as well as the tube of lip gloss have the same glitter graphic that is found on the outer box.  The stunner of the collection has to be the bottle of fragrance.  It doesn’t have a glitter graphic, it actually has glitter all over the bottle.  Philosophy, if you some how come across this post, please consider offering your bottles of fragrance with this glitter exterior all of the time.  It is gorgeous.

This Picture Doesn't Do This Bottle Justice!

If you recall, I wasn’t sure what the lip gloss was flavored like before I placed the order since I placed the order before the presentation.  The gloss is simply a fancied up version of Philosophy’s Bubbly Lip Shine.  It has a champagne taste.

The solid fragrance stick is a nice touch.  It will make a great addition to my purse during the winter months.  If there is any left come summertime it will have to be moved to my bathroom or desk for fear of the melty mess that I might be left with if I leave my purse in the car.  The scent of the solid fragrance smells exactly like the Falling In Love spray fragrance.

I know a lot of people have said that the quality of Philosophy has gone down hill since Cristina Carlino sold the company.  While I totally agree with that thought in some regards, Philosophy has hit it out of the park with this collection.  All of the products have a true Falling In Love scent.  There isn’t a smell of chemicals or alcohol like I’ve heard some people complain of with past products.

If you picked this up for anyone as a Christmas gift, they are going to love you.  Anyone would be absolutely blown away by this collection.

Philosophy QVC Today’s Special Value December 4th 2010

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on November 30, 2010

***UPDATE*** Now it looks like the Philosophy TSV is available for 4 Easy Pays of $14.99 instead of 3 Easy Pays of $19.99.  Is it me, or has QVC been doing this switcheroo with Easy Pay quantities a lot lately?

Can you believe it’s already going to be December tomorrow?  I’ve said it before, but seriously, why didn’t the year move so fast when I was in school???  The good thing about December coming (besides Santa, Christmas cookies, and decorations) is that it brings a new Philosophy Today’s Special Value on QVC.  The good news…you don’t have to wait until December 4th to get your hands on the new Philosophy TSV.  It’s already available for order on

Just in time for Christmas, Philosophy’s latest TSV is a fragrance set.  The Philosophy Kiss Of Grace 5-piece Deluxe Fragrance Collection features (1) 2 oz. spray fragrance, (1) 5 oz. tube of perfumed body butter, (1) 16 oz. bottle of 3-in-1 shampoo, bath & shower gel, (1) 0.09 oz. solid fragrance stick, (1) 0.5 oz. tube of flavored lip shine, all in a lovely gift box with fabric bow.  It is available in your choice of Amazing Grace, Pure Grace, or Falling In Love.  It has a Today’s Special Value Price of $59.98 with 3 Easy Pays of $19.99.  It has a retail value of $132.00 and a QVC price of $72.50.

The packaging for this kit appears to be a special holiday packaging.  I think it looks pretty spiffy

Let me just tell you, I already put my order in for the Falling In Love set.  Falling In Love is one of my most favorite fragrances ever.  The price for the amount of product that you receive is great and the Easy Pay offer seals the deal for me.

I’m curious to see what the Lip Shine is flavored like.  Although this is just my guess, I don’t think it would taste like the fragrances.  Who would want lip gloss that tastes like perfume?  Maybe something minty?  I guess we’ll have to wait and see.  I’m also interested in testing out the solid fragrance stick.  I have never tried any Philosophy fragrance in the solid form.

If you have a Philosophy girl in your life, I think this would make a great Christmas gift for her…that is, if she isn’t already snagging one for herself!  If you have been wanting to try a Philosophy fragrance out, this is also a great kit to do so with.  You get all of the staple products.

Will you be ordering the Philosophy QVC Today’s Special Value?  What fragrance will you be getting?

Philosophy Gift Of Grace Or Love On 5 Easy Pays!!!

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on October 16, 2010

If you are a Philosophy fragrance girl, you may be interested in a Hot Pick on QVC today.  The Philosophy Gift Of Grace Or Love 4 Piece Fragrance Collection is on 5 Easy Pays today!  The QVC price is $71.25 so each Easy Payment is only $14.25 (plus tax and shipping)!  Crazyness.

The Gift of Grace or Love 4 Piece Fragrance Collection features a 16-oz 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel, and bubble bath (shower cream if you order pure grace) , an 8-oz body lotion (body emulsion if you order amazing grace), a 4-oz hand cream, 2-oz eau de parfum, and a bonus 5-oz scented bath soap.  I don’t know why they say this is a 4 piece collection when it clearly contains 5 items.  You have your choice of the Amazing Grace, Pure Grace, or Falling In Love fragrances.

I am totally a Falling In Love girl.  I love the sweet scent.  It kind of reminds me of cotton candy for some reason, but not in a childish way.  My Sweetie loves it and I am always getting compliments when I wear it.  Amazing Grace is a wonderful scent as well.  It’s a very clean scent.

Are you a Philosophy fragrance girl?  What is your favorite Philosophy fragrance scent?

Marc Jacobs Splash – Apple

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on June 8, 2010

As this blog proceeds you will find out that when it comes to fragrances I don’t tend to mix it up too much.  I have a few scents that I use that I have found completely work for me.  I like the way they smell and, not to sound conceited, I’m often asked by people in public, “What are you wearing?  It smells so good!”  The way I look at it, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.  But when Summertime rolls around, there is always a new fragrance I have to add to my rotation:  Marc Jacobs Splash.

For the past few Summers I have been using Marc Jacobs Splash – Cucumber.  It is just the most light and refreshing scent.  It is a crisp and clean scent with a “splash” of cucumber mixed in with subtle floral scents.  For me it just screams summer.  This year, Marc Jacobs Splash is available in three new scents:  Apple, Biscotti, and Pomegranate.  Apple was my immediate choice to replace my beloved Cucumber.

With notes of Apple Zest, Lemon And Grapefruit Combined With Rosemary, Jasmine, Magnolia, Coriander, Cardamom, this is not a child’s apple scented product.  You are not hit with an overwhelmingly sweet scent of apple.  As is typical with the Marc Jacobs Splash line, it is a perfectly subtle scent of apple mixed in with other citrus scents.  Not to keep repeating myself, but it’s a crisp, clean, and refreshingly light Summer scent.  Obviously, Marc Jacobs has perfected the splash concept.

While the Marc Jacobs Splash line is a little pricey ($68 a bottle!), you do get a huge (for a fragrance) 10 oz bottle that does seem to last for quite awhile.  I know I’ve seen complaints online that the Splash line doesn’t seem to last all day but I have to disagree.  Everytime I go to do laundry, I can still smell the scent of Cucumber Splash on my clothes in the laundry basket.  I think that sometimes people forget that your nose adjusts to the scent around you.  The longer you wear the same scent, the less you smell it.  But that doesn’t mean that those around you can’t!
