LORAC Set Of 4 Tie Dye For Limited Edition Glosses – QVC Exclusive

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on October 23, 2010

Let me just tell you, I am loving QVC today.  I know, I sound like an old lady.  But seriously, there have been a ton of beauty deals today.  This is one that you may be very interested in.  Have you guys seen the LORAC Tie Dye For Lip Gloss Collection?  It’s a collection of 5 LORAC Tie Dye lip glosses for the Holiday 2010 season.  Each Tie Dye lip gloss is made up of 3 individual colors that blend together when applied to give you amazing shades.  You may have even picked these up during the Sephora Friends & Family Sale.  If you love the original Tie Dye For collection and want more, then here’s the set for you.

LORAC has a Set Of 4 Tie Dye For Limited Edition Glosses made exclusively for QVC. It even includes an exclusive hot pink shade that you can’t find anywhere else.  This exclusive collection features shades in nude, pale pink, hot pink, and red.

Although the LORAC Tye Die For Glosses are lip glosses, the coverage and color that they offer makes them more like liquid lipsticks.  They are so rich and opaque in color.  If you have been looking for a lip gloss that offers a punch of color as opposed to a sheer hint of color, you should definitely give these a try.

So here’s the deal.  The Set Of 4 Tie Dye For Limited Edition Glosses are Feature Priced on QVC at just $18.24 with a regular QVC price of $20. An absolute steal considering that the retail value for these glosses is $88! But wait, there’s more!  If you buy more than one of these sets you get $3 off each addition set ordered.  That would make each addition set only $15.24!  Hello stocking stuffers and Secret Santa gifts.  Can you believe the price?  No clue how long this deal will last, but I am assuming it will at least last thru the Joy Of Giving Weekend on QVC.

Have you picked up the LORAC Tie Dye For glosses?  Will you be picking up multiples of the QVC edition for gifts this holiday season?

LORAC All That Glitters Limited Edition Sparkle Eye Pencil Shadow Liner Collection

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on October 20, 2010

While out and about today I decided to take an unplanned trip to Ulta.  They didn’t have all of the holiday collections out, but they did have quite a few.  I did end up going home with a holiday palette which I’ll be posting about soon.  But there was also an item that I didn’t buy that I’m now regretting.  That would be the LORAC All That Glitters Limited Edition Sparkle Eye Pencil Shadow Liner Collection.  It’s an Ulta exclusive and I’m already thinking about making my way to Ulta to get it.

The LORAC All That Glitters set features 5 of their glitter eye shadow / liner pencils in Cobalt Sky (Navy Blue), Sapphire Shimmer (Purple), Gunmetal Glitz (Charcoal Grey), Midnight Sparkle (Black), and Paparazzi Pencil (Brown).  It is priced at $19!  That is a huge steal.  These are smaller pencils compared to the regular sized individual pencils LORAC offers, but they are by no means mini.  They are a good size.  The full-sized pencils are $18 so the $19 price tag truly is a deal.

I played around with all of the shades in this set and loved them all.  They are all on the darker side.  No bright colors here.  There is also a good amount of shimmer glitter in these pencils.

Like I said, I’m already wanting to go back and pick the All That Glitters collection up.  Why, why did I have to have the will power to say just one item???  There is no doubt in my mind that All That Glitters will eventually find its rightful spot in my beauty collection!  Once it has arrived, I will post swatches.  Let me just tell you, I’m so loving the LORAC Holiday 2010 collection!

As I said, All That Glitters is an Ulta exclusive.  It’s available in Ulta stores as well as Ulta.com

Are you a fan of LORAC?  Will you be picking up the All That Glitters set?

LORAC Box Office Sensation

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on October 5, 2010

Years ago, LORAC seemed to burst onto the beauty scene with their cult following Lip Polishes.  I loved their Lip Polishes, but I always thought that the unsung hero from LORAC was their eye shadow.  I came across LORAC eye shadows out of sheer luck.  I was looking for a specific shade of green and couldn’t find what I wanted from the brands that I already loved.  I happened to be looking at the Lip Polishes from LORAC when I noticed the green shade I was looking for amongst their shadows.  Thank God for that because I was introduced to some pretty kick ass eye shadows.

I am super excited to talk about LORAC’s latest palette because it is filled to the brim with eye shadow!  LORAC introduces Box Office Sensation; a mirrored train case packed with 39 eye shadows, 9 lipglosses, 3 blushes, and a bronzer.  The shades/colors of the items are not listed, but looking at the picture of Box Office Sensation it appears to cover a decent range of shades.

LORAC glosses and blushes are great too, but buy Box Office Sensation for the eye shadows if nothing else!  They are packed full of pigment, they go on so soft, and they last all day.  They are gorgeous!

Box Office Sensation is a limited edition palette that retails for $56 with a value of $660!!! Now that is a value! The break down comes out to just over $1 per item…absolute crazyness.

Have you tried LORAC eye shadows? Lusting after Box Office Sensation? Leave a comment and let us know!

LORAC Rock The Red Carpet VIP Gift Set

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on August 25, 2010

***UPDATE***  These kits are now listed as “In Stock” so shop away!

LORACCosmetics.com sent an email out bright and early this morning about this exclusive gift set.  The Rock The Red Carpet VIP Gift Set features Bronzed Bombshell Eye Shadow Trio (Sand/Serenity/Bronze), Mini TANtalizer Baked Bronzer for face and body, and Mini Couture Shine Liquid Lipsticks in Haute, Couture, Sheer Luxe, Glam, and Lavish all housed in a Purple Croc Makeup bag.  It’s all available for $25.  What a steal.  I think I’m going to pick up one of these to have on hand for a gift.  Just a heads up, this item is currently listed as not available, but there is a chance that this is an error.  People have been posting complaints online and on LORAC’s Facebook page about the item being out moments after it was posted on Facebook yesterday.  To me, if the item was really sold out yesterday, why would an email be sent out today?  So if you’re interested in this set, I would just check LORAC’s website throughout the day and see if it’s available.  I will also be checking throughout the day and will update this post if/when it becomes available.

LORAC Private Affair Palette

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on August 13, 2010

If you’re looking for a new kind of smoky eye for the Fall, LORAC’s Private Affair Palette may be what you’re looking for.  The palette contains six eye shadows in nudes, silvers, and plums.  It also comes with eye primer and a double eneded brush, both of which fit into the palette.  I am loving the fact that purple is popping up everywhere this Fall.  The plum shadows are what really catch my attention in this palette.  Combine the grays and the plums and you will have one hot smoky eye.

I love LORAC eye shadows.  They pack a lot of punch, but with a light hand can applied for a sheerer look.  These shadows are shimmer shadows, so they have a nice shimmer to them.  They are not glitter shadows so they are not overly sparkly.  Also, the official description of this palette describes it as a “mini palette.”  Let me just tell you, each eye shadow pan contains .3 oz of shadow.  That is not mini!  That is a lot of shadow.

There are so many great Fall palettes coming out.  I still haven’t made up my mind as to which ones I’m going to pick up, but I’m 99% sure I am getting this LORAC Private Affair Palette.  It’s just too gorgeous to pass up.

Top Five Thursdays – Top Five Longwear Lip Color / Lip Stains

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on June 24, 2010

Happy Thursday!  Just one more day until the weekend.  Thursdays at AnotherBeautyBlog.com are Top Five Thursdays.  Every week I’m going to put up a top five list of my favorite beauty products, cosmetics lines, skin care products, eye shadow colors…you get the picture.  These lists are based on my own humble opinion based on my experiences trying tons and tons of beauty products over the years.  So here we go!  I present my Top Five Longwear Lip Color / Lip Stains.

1.  MAC Pro Longwear Lip Colour – This has been my go-to longwear lip color for as long as I can remember.  As with every MAC product, it’s packed full of pigment and has tremendous staying power.  I have never had to reapply the lip color when I’ve used this product.   The lip colour comes with a clear gloss on the other end of the stick.  Slick it on to give your lips some shine and to add some moisture.  The lip colour itself is a little drying, so keep either the clear gloss or some sort of lip balm handy.  This also comes in a lustre version (instead of the clear gloss at the opposite end of the stick, a sparkly lustre gloss has taken its place).  MAC Pro Longwear Lip Colour is available in a wide range of colors so there is something for every skin tone.  Retail Price:  $21.  Added Bonus:  You can find these at The Cosmetic Company Store at many outlet malls across the country at a great price (including Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora for my Chicago girls).

2.  Pixi Lip Blush – This is the only magic marker-esque lip stain on my list.  It is the only one I have tried that can compete with liquid colors.  Applied it has such a light and airy feeling.  It lasts all day.  No need for a touch up, although some Chapstick may be needed.  The only downside is that Pixi Lip Blush is only available in four colors, but the range of colors is wide enough that the colors are not similar to each other and everyone should be able to find one shade that they enjoy.  Retail Price:  $18.  Added Bonus:  It’s available at Target!  Almost everyone has a Target near them.

3.  LORAC Co-Stars – Remember years ago when everyone was obsessed with those adorable little bottles of LORAC lip polishes?  I was so on that bandwagon.  Good thing because being on that bandwagon lead me to play around with other LORAC products including Co-Stars.  Like the MAC Pro Longwear Lip Colour, this is a double-ended lip stain with the lip color on one end and a shiney top coat on the other.  The color is long-lasting and looks natural.  Like the Pixi Lip Blush, the downside is that this product is only available in five shades.  Retail Price:  $20.  Added Bonus: I can’t think of one…sorry.

4.  Laura Geller Lip Stay – I don’t want to sound repetitive, but the Laura Geller Lip Stay is very similar to the Mac Pro Longwear and LORAC Co-Stars.  Double-ended lip color with a shine top coat on one end.  Long-lasting with nice neutral colors.  Lip Stay is available in six colors, but they are all pretty neutral colors.  If you’re looking for a bright bold color with some pop you’ll have to look elsewhere.  Retail Price: $13 – $14.50 (depending on where you buy it).  Added Bonus:  It’s one of the cheaper non-drugstore brand longwear lip colors out there.

5.  Tarte Rise & Shine Plumping Lip Stain – Tarte is well known for their fabulous Cheek Stains, but a lot of their other products are often overlooked.  I think the Rise & Shine Plumping Lip Stain is one of those overlooked products because when I’ve mentioned it to others no one has ever known what I was talking about.  Here we have another double ended product.  But here’s what makes this duo unique.  Unlike the other double ended products featured in this post, this one does not have your run of the mill clear shiny top coat gloss.  No siree, this one has a complimenting tinted lip gloss on the opposite end of the lip color.  Available in six fun shades, including both bright, bold colors and neutral, natural colors.  Retail Price:  $21.  Added Bonus:  Obviously the matching tinted lip gloss!

A couple of tips on using longwear lip colors / lip stains.  First, lip stains tend to show all of the flaws that your lips may have.  I do not recommend using lip stains on dry or flakey lips because it will only accentuate those issues.  Second, lip stains are designed to sink into your lips.  As a result, bleeding outside of the lip line can occur.  My advice is to pay attention when you’re applying the lip stain and don’t just slather it on like you might with a normal lipgloss.  Lipliners also help.  Third, always let the lip color dry completely before putting a top coat on it.  If you don’t, it may change the texture of the lip stain.  Lastly, don’t smack your lips together after you apply the lip color.  Just put it on and let it be.  No smacking, no blotting, just let it dry.

So there you have it, my top five longwear lip color / lip stains at the moment.  What do you think?  Did I leave out your favorite longwear lip color / lip stain?  Do you hate one of my top fives?  Got an idea for the next Top Five Thursday?  Leave a comment and let me know!
