Stila Make Me Blush Set

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on January 20, 2011

Remember a few days ago when I posted about Stila’s adorable Make Me Blush palette?  Well after doing a little searching I found this even more adorable Stila Make Me Blush Set on Sephora.com.  The Stila Make Me Blush Set not only features the Make Me Blush Palette but also 2 Stila Lip Glazes in Hugs and Kisses.  Seriously, can you just die?

Now I need another lip gloss like I need a hole in the head.  Honest to God, as I was driving home from Bath & Body Works today with 4 new lip glosses for my stash I thought, “How many lips do I have?  How am I ever going to use up all of the glosses I already have and I just picked up 4 more?!?!”  But how can you resist these cute Hugs and Kisses Lip Glazes?

The Make Me Blush Set is currently listed as not in stock, but I would have to imagine that it’s only a matter of days until it is available.  It will be available for $20.

Are you loving this Make Me Blush Set?  Would you prefer this set or would you rather just pick up the blush itself?

Stila Make Me Blush Palette

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on January 17, 2011

If you’re a drugstore beauty diva, you may have seen the new Physicians Formula Happy Booster line popping up (if you haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry, it’s coming).  The Happy Booster line features face powder, bronzer, and blush products all adorned with happy little hearts.  I am hoping to pick up at least one item from this line to do a review.  I saw an empty display at CVS this past week.  Honestly, I think I’m more smitten with the cute little hearts than the Physicians Formula product itself.  But the good news is that Physicians Formula is not the only brand to create cute heart adorned products.  Meet Stila Make Me Blush Palette, the new blush from Stila Cosmetics.

The Make Me Blush Palette is a multi-shade powder blush inspired by those cute little Valentine’s Day candy conversation hearts.

From Stila:  ” The Make Me Blush Palette is embossed with a cute Conversation Heart design. The top layer is sprayed with the gold shine for visual and once dusted off with brush you are left with all over glow pressed powder that will add warmth, soft color, and sheer luminosity to cheeks and complexion.

Great for all skintones, the micro-fine formula is velvety and blendable and instantly enhances the complexion with a tint of pinks and corals.”

I am smitten!  I love the hearts and the colors look fab.  I am kicking myself because I meant to order this palette this weekend because I had a free shipping offer and I totally forgot.  I’m hoping that there will be another free shipping promo soon!  Once I do order it, I will definitely post a review and swatches.

The Stila Make Me Blush Palette is only $14!  This is a great deal considering that the Physicians Formula products I talked about at the beginning of this post run about the same price (unless they are on sale) but, generally, have less quality.  Right now, I am only finding Make Me Blush on StilaCosmetics.com. It doesn’t mention if this is an exclusive product or if we’ll be able to find this at Sephora soon.

What do you think of Stila Make Me Blush?  Will you be picking it up?

Stila Adventurous In Aspen Travel Girl Palette

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on December 29, 2010

I’m finally getting around to a review for the latest Stila Travel Girl Palette – Adventurous In Aspen.  If you recall, Adventurous In Aspen features four eye shadows in Snow Angel (shimmering heather gray), Icicles (blue), Glisten (shimmering gold), and Ajax (black with gold sparkle) and a Convertible Color in Rosy (rose-pink).  The colors looked stunning online, but how did they do in person?

I have to admit, at first I wasn’t as blown away with these colors as I thought I would be once I got them.  But after playing with them for a while I am actually quite smitten.  With the exception of Snow Angel, the eye shadows are darker shades.  But with a light hand, you can apply them so they appear to be more sheer.  I will say that even though they are darker colors, they are very buildable.  Snow Angel has the most shimmer, but the Glisten and Ajax shades have a very nice shimmer as well.  The Icicles shade is the most matte of the group.  It does come off a little chalkier than the other shades.

In The Sun

I know the point of these palettes is to use the colors together to create a complete look.  But I have been using the darker shades of shadow from this palette with similar lighter shades from other palettes, kits, singles, etc. that I already had.  The pairings have created some very pretty smoky eyes.

As for the Convertible Color, I have to say I was a little disappointed with this one.  Usually I’m a huge fan of Stila Convertible Colors, but this one left a lot to be desired.  First, this CC seemed more oily than others.  I don’t know if you can see it, but if you look at the first picture you can see what looks like condensation on the CC.  When I first tried to swatch the colors the CC color did not appear.  The only thing that was left on my hand was a clear oily residue.  But after a few tries, the Rosy color did start to appear.  It’s almost like I had to get through the oily layer or something.

Out Of The Sun

As for the color itself, the Rosy shade is rather subtle.  It’s nice because you can give your cheeks a fresh and natural glow with one swipe.  Keep applying the buildable CC for a more prominent pink glow.  I think Stila did a good job in pairing a subtle, natural pink with the darker eye colors.

Overall, I was really pleased with the Stila Adventurous In Aspen Travel Palette.  Like the other Travel Girl Palettes, these aren’t top of the line shadows, but they colors are gorgeous and you can create a ton of looks, especially if you think outside the palette and use other items you already have in your beauty stock pile. For $10 I think this is a must have.

Have you picked up the Stila Adventurous In Aspen Travel Girl Palette yet?  Do you plan on picking it up?  What do you think of it?

Stila Color Wheel Eye Shadow Palette On Sale

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on December 15, 2010

Sephora isn’t the only one that is marking some of the holiday’s must-have items on sale.  Ulta has marked down a few noteworthy items as well.  Most notably, the Stila Color Wheel Eye Shadow Palette.  It was originally priced at $38, but Ulta now has it on sale for $30.40.  Both Sephora and Stila still have this palette priced at the original price so if you’re looking to pick it up I would definitely look to Ulta.  I’m assuming that this sale price is also good in Ulta stores, that is, if they still have them in stock.  Is it just me or do Ulta stores seem to be lacking when it comes to keeping products in stock?  I swear, even when a product has just been released I usually just seem to find a messy display and no product.  It’s as if each Ulta only receives 3 or 4 of each limited edition product.

I didn’t review the Stila Color Wheel on this blog because it is not an item that I have picked up yet.  Don’t get me wrong it looks great and it is a product that I would probably reach for often, but other things have caught my attention and the Color Wheel always seemed to get pushed back.  From what I have read from other reviews and from what I’ve been told from friends who have gotten the Stila Color Wheel it has all be mostly positive.  The colors cover a wide range of the spectrum.  The formula of the shadow is not the same as the individual Stila shadows, but they aren’t bad.

Did you get the Stila Color Wheel Eye Shadow Palette?  Love it?  Hate it?

Stila Adventurous In Aspen Travel Palette Sephora Exclusive

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on December 2, 2010

How the hell did I miss this yesterday when I put my order in at Sephora???  If you thought the Stila Travel Palettes were done with Fabulous In Fiji you were so wrong.  There is a brand spanking new Stila Travel Palette available exclusively at Sephora.

Adventurous In Aspen features four eye shadows in Snow Angel (shimmering heather gray), Icicles (blue), Glisten (shimmering gold), and Ajax (black with gold sparkle) and a Convertible Color in Rosy (rose-pink).

Oh my God…I want this palette right now!  This, by far, looks like the best of all of the Travel Palettes that Stila has released.  I am loving all of the colors and love the fact that this palette is all about shimmer and sparkle.  I haven’t even picked this up yet and already I am thinking about picking up two just to have a back-up.

I’m glad to see that Stila realized just how much we love these Travel Palettes and hope they will continue to release even more.  The funny thing is that on the Adventurous In Aspen product page on Sephora it states “‘Adventurous in Aspen’ is part of a five-part series of limited-edition palettes including: ‘Road to Radiance,’ ‘Pretty in Paris,’ ‘Make an Impression in Moscow,’ and ‘Fabulous in Fiji.'”  Really, this is the sixth palette from that series.  What about “Trendsetting In Tokyo”, Sephora???

Adventurous In Aspen is exclusive to Sephora.com.  Like the rest of the Stila Travel Palettes, it is priced at $10.  It’s also a limited edition.

Will you be picking up Adventurous In Aspen?  Which of the Stila Travel Palettes has been your favorite?

Cyber Monday Stila Warehouse Sale

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on November 28, 2010

For Cyber Monday, StilaCosmetics.com will be holding another Warehouse Sale.  If it’s anything like their Warehouse Sale a few months ago there will be plenty of deals to be had.  You’ll be able to save up to 80% on your favorite Stila products starting Monday, November 29th thru Friday, December 3rd.  During the last Warehouse Sale, I don’t think you were able to use any other discounts or anything like that.  The invite to the Cyber Monday Warehouse Sale doesn’t say anything about other discounts so I guess we’ll have to see what the deal is tomorrow.  Happy Shopping!

Stila Friday Happy Hour – Free Shipping & Free Lip Glaze

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on October 29, 2010

It’s Friday!  That means it’s time for Stila’s Friday Happy Hour.  This week, Stila is offering Free Shipping and a Free Lip Glaze with any purchase throughout the day on StilaCosmetics.com.  You have your choice of 3 Lip Glaze shades:  Fruit Punch, Sugar Plum, or Brown Sugar.  The coupon / promo codes for the freebies are FRUITPUNCH, SUGARPLUM, or BROWNSUGAR.  Obviously, use the code that corresponds to the shade of Lip Glaze you would like.

These shades are 3 of Stila’s most popular Lip Glaze shades.  I have multiples of all 3.  I think my favorite of the 3 would have to be Sugar Plum.  It is a very sheer shade and doesn’t offer much color, but it does a great job of enhancing the look of your lips.  If you’re having trouble deciding on a shade, rest assured that you can’t go wrong with any of the shades offered.

Stila has recently added their Holiday Gift Guide section to their site.  Truthfully, I’m disappointed in some of the gifts they have put together as they are older products that they have left over from their warehouse sale.  Even worse, the prices are much higher than they were during the sale.  I love Stila, but this move kind of feels like a rip off.

That being said, there are still a bunch of items in the Holiday Gift Guide section that I would consider picking up both for me as well as for gifts.  The Go For The Shimmer gift set caught my eye.  This set features a full-sized Mango Crush Lip & Cheek Stain, a full-sized Pearl Shimmer Gloss – South Sea Coral, and a full-sized Lip Liner – Contour no. 19 all housed in a Gold Clutch.  It’s priced at only $15!  That price is amazing for full-sized products.  It has a value of $63.  Add this to the great Secret Santa gifts list.

Stila’s Friday Happy Hour offers are good thru today, October 29th or until items run out.  Happy Shopping!

Will you be picking up anything to take advantage of Stila’s Friday Happy Hour offer?  If so, what did you snag?

$15 Stila Artist’s Inspiration Palette

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on October 27, 2010

A few days ago, I spied this $15 Stila Artist’s Inspiration Palette on Sephora.com while looking to see if there was anything else I “needed” during the Friends & Family Sale.  It was like it was a secret deal because it wasn’t listed with the other palettes and what not on the Stila page on Sephora.com.  Instead, it only popped up when I searched for “Stila” and then sorted by price.  I was waiting until today to put my order in, thinking that there may be a new weekly deal that would intrest me.  Suprise!  The Stila Artist’s Inspiration Palette is the new weekly deal!

The Stila Artist’s Inspiration Palette is a palette that features six eye shadows inspired by pop art designs.  The shades featured include Fluorescent Green, Ebony, Electric Pink, Golightly, Dapple, and Kitten.  There are a few bright, bold, and fun shades coupled with a few neutral shades.  And of course, Kitten is there.  Seriously, how many Stila palettes include Kitten???

I’m really excited to get my hands on this new palette as I’m curious as to how these shades are going to get along together.  They all look amazing, but at the moment I’m having trouble wrapping my head around how to combine them.

Don’t forget, the Sephora Friends & Family Sale is still going on.  So use coupon / promo code FF2010 and save 20% making this palette only $12.

I am loving these affordable palettes that Stila keeps gracing us with.  Bravo to Stila for recognizing that, especially in this economy, beauty addicts still want to be able to pick up some goodies without having to shell out a ton of cash.

What do you think of the Stila Artist’s Inspiration Palette?  Will you be picking it up?

Stila Backstage Eye Shadow Palette Now On Sale

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on October 14, 2010

If you still haven’t gotten your hands on the Stila Backstage Eye Shadow Palette, you’re in luck. That palette has just been added to Sephora’s sale section. It’s on sale for $19! The original price was $28. This is an extremely beautiful palette that can be used to create a ton of looks. I love the richness of the jewel tone colors in this palette. I can honestly say that this was one of my favorite fall 2010 palettes. I’m tempted to pick up another one at this price.

If you’ve been on the fence about this product, get over it and just get it already!  You will not be sorry, especially at this price!  I have yet to speak to a person who has this palette that doesn’t absolutely love it.
