Benefit Cosmetics On HSN Today

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on February 16, 2011

While scrolling through the guide on my television this morning I noticed that Benefit Cosmetics has a show on HSN today at 10 am Central time.  I checked out the Benefit Cosmetics page on HSN.com and found a couple of items that Benefit girls may be interested in.

First, the Benefit Perfect Pair Benetint and Hoola Bronzer. This duo features full-sized versions of Benetint and Hoola Box O’Powder for only $32! If you bought these items separately it would cost you $56.  I wish I needed Benetint because I’ve wanted to pick up Hoola and this is an amazing price for both items.  The problem is that I picked up a kit that had Benetint in it one of the last times Benefit was on HSN.

Second, the Benefit All You Need Is Gloss Set. This gloss set features 6 shimmering Benefit lip glosses for the event price of $16.95 (regular HSN price is $26). Shades include I’m with the band (golden pink shimmer), Almost Famous (copper penny), Life on the A list (bubble gum pink), Who are you Wearing? (passion fruit pink), Back to the Fuchsia (sparkling fuchsia), and 24k (sexy gold). I know that Benefit glosses have a cult following amongst some beauty addicts. If you fall into that category this would be a great time to pick these up at a fraction of the cost.

Even better, during Benefit’s visit to HSN, all Benefit Cosmetics products have $2.50 shipping.  Woo-hoo!  I wish QVC would take notice of the discounted shipping that HSN offers on their cosmetics products.

If you miss the 10 am show, Benefit Cosmetics will also be on HSN tomorrow, February 17th, at 2 am and 7 pm Central time.  Happy Shopping!

Benefit Stay Put Set Back In Stock!!!

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on February 9, 2011

Were you able to get your hands on the Benefit Stay Put Set this past fall?  Seriously, it sold out in a blink of an eye once the Sephora Friends & Family Sale started.  That’s not surprising considering the Stay Put Set features almost full sized Erase Paste and Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow and a decent deluxe sample size of Stay Don’t Stray for only $10.  It is an absolute steal.  I know a lot of Benefit girls were upset that they had the Stay Put Set in their cart but it sold out before they could purchase it.  If that was you, I have fantabulous news. The Benefit Stay Put Set is back in stock!!!  It still states that this is a limited edition item so who knows how many they have or how long they will last.  I just ordered another set since I am a fan of the Erase Paste and you can’t beat this price.

If you haven’t tried the Erase Paste or the Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow, this is an excellent kit to pick up to give them a try.  You are not going to find such a value anywhere else.  The RSVP shade of eyeshadow is a gorgeous neutral that should flatter most skintypes.  I reach for it at least once a week.

Did you miss out on the Benefit Stay Put Set this past fall or were you lucky enough to get one?  Love it?  Hate it?

Benefit Cosmetics Femme Metale Update

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on December 16, 2010

Yesterday I posted my glowing review of the Benefit Femme Metale kit.  I just wanted to give everyone a quick update.  Let me just tell you, I have been fighting a cold since Saturday that seems to be getting worse instead of getting better.  Last night as I was soaking in a hot bubble bath, trying to clear my breathing passages, I looked down at my arm and thought I had a bug or something crawling on me.  Turns out it was the eyeliner swatches for the Benefit Cosmetics Femme Metale post from that morning.  It’s now 10:00 am Chicago time and I am trying to drag myself out of bed.  As I pushed up the sleeves of my shirt I was amazed to see that the Benefit eyeliner swatches are still there!  Now, they have faded a little, but I am utterly amazed at the fact that these have not smudged one bit…even after soaking in a bubble bath!  Look at the picture and see for yourself.  Amazing.  This is more than 24 hours after I applied these liners to my arm.  Again, at $28, the Femme Metale kit is a steal!

Benefit Cosmetics Femme Metale

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on December 15, 2010

The Benefit Cosmetics Femme Metale kit was one of those kits that I know I wanted as soon as I saw it.  I’m already a fan of Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows so I was immediately impressed by the value of this kit.  Originally priced at $38, the Femme Metale kit is the same price as 2 Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows ($19 a piece).  The uniqueness of some of the shades in this collection, particularly the Plum-ing For Gold shade, also had me lusting.  When UPS delivered my order from Sephora and I finally got to play with Femme Metale, my expectations were blown away.

The Femme Metale kit features 3 Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows in Platinum (metallic white), Plum-ing For Golf (metallic plum), and Taupe-aztic (metallic golden beige) and 3 eyeliners in Blinged (silver), Gem-N-Eye (golden olive shimmer), and  Steel Her Date (steal blue shimmer).  All of the colors are new and limited edition to Benefit so no worries about repeating colors here.

Let’s start with the Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows first.  Like I said, I was already a huge fan of Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows, but truthfully, it’s been awhile since I’ve bought one.  That’s simply because they really last a long time!  I don’t know if this is a newer formula or not, but the eyeshadows in Femme Metale seemed a little creamier than the other Benefit cream shadows I have used.  I liked that these seemed creamier and hope that Benefit continues to offer creamier cream shadows.

The colors in this kit are gorgeous.  I said I was most intrigued by Plum-ing For Gold.  If you’ve been reading this blog you know that I am a huge fan of purple shades.  I have a bunch of  purple shadows including a handful of purple cream shadows, but they all tend to be more of the brighter true to purple shades.  This plum shade is definitely a new one in my beauty arsenal.  Use it to put a new twist on a smoky eye.

When you hear “Platinum” you (or at least I) tend to think of metallicy silver shades.  In Femme Metale, the Platinum shade leans more to the white side than to the silver side.  It has the metallic shimmer to it, but don’t expect this to be a silver shade.  It is a stunning highlighter, but is just as beautiful as lid color.

Taupe-aztic re-ignited a fondness for gold shadows in me.  Don’t be fooled by the word “taupe” in the name.  This is not a boring taupe-beige shade.  It is an exciting shade of gold that you will be happy to wear way past the holiday season.

Like the permanent line of Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows, all of the shadows in Femme Metale are extremely pigmented and long-lasting.  They also have buildability.  Apply with a light hand for a sheerer look or apply a few swipes for a bold steamy eye look.

Let’s move onto the eyeliners.  Oh my God, the eyeliners!  I LOVE THEM!!!  I am planning a letter writing campaign to Benefit, begging them to introduce a permanent collection of these liners.  Blinged, Gem-N-Eye, and Steel Her Date all have a shimmery metallic effect to them.  The glided on like butter and once they set they weren’t going anywhere.  Seriously, when I swatched these on my arm they were there all day.  Even after I purposely rubbed at them they didn’t budge at all.  If you are a fan of Urban Decay 24/7 liners you will be just as smitten with these. I love them, love them, love them.

Let me just tell you, I was singing the praises of Femme Metale when it was priced at $38.  I told everyone I knew and anyone who complimented my look when I wore Femme Metale that they needed to get their hands on this kit.  Now that Sephora has put this kit on sale for $28, I am at a loss for words.  Seriously, if you haven’t picked up Femme Metale yet, surf on over to Sephora and pick it up immediately.  The value on this quality kit is mind-blowing!

Did you pick up Femme Metale?  Love it?  Hate it?  Let us know!

Benefit Bella Bamba Available At Sephora.com Now

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on December 15, 2010

On Monday I posted about the release of the new Benefit Bella Bamba face color.  Originally, according to Benefit, Bella Bamba was going to be exclusively available directly from Benefit for a few weeks.  I don’t know if that was a mistake or if they changed their minds our what, but this morning as I was browsing Sephora.com I noticed that Bella Bamba is in stock and available for purchase. Of course, it becomes available 2 days after the Sephora gift card codes expired!  I so would have used my gift card to pick this up.

Anyways, I figured I would point out the fact that Sephora.com now has Bella Bamba in case you would prefer to order it from Sephora instead of Benefit. I have no clue if Bella Bamba is also available in Sephora stores already. If anyone has any idea feel free to comment and let us all know!

Benefit Bella Bamba Face Color

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on December 13, 2010

I can’t believe I almost forgot to post about this.  Benefit’s latest face color in a box (that’s what I call Benefit’s cute face colors) is available!  Bella Bamba is available on BenefitCosmetics.com.  It won’t be available at places like Sephora until a few weeks from now.  I am already in love with Bella Bamba and I haven’t even gotten my hands on it yet!

Benefit’s Bella Bamba face color is a gorgeous watermelon pink shade that even has a watermelon scent.  It’s a 3D blush that will give your face a more structured look.  Really, who doesn’t want gorgeous, structured cheek bones?!?!  The watermelon color has gold shimmery undertones to really take your look to the next level.

I don’t know if you noticed, but Benefit is making some changes to its face color boxes.  If you have ever used a Benefit face color box before you know that the top is completely separate from the bottom.  Benefit is now going to be using a box where the top is connected to the bottom along one side.  These new boxes also feature a magnetic closure.  I know a lot of people complain about the current Benefit box, especially when trying to bring your face color while traveling.  I personally don’t have a problem with the current box, but can see the benefits of the new box, provided that the magnetic closure is secure enough.  The old Benefit boxes are currently being phased out and all of the Benefit face colors will soon be featured in this new attached box.

I cannot even express how badly I want Bella Bamba right now.  But I’m going to show some restraint and wait until after Christmas to pick it up.  Seriously, cosmetics companies are offering so many amazing sales and deals lately that I am so far beyond over-spent on make-up it’s ridiculous.  Bella Bamba is available at BenefitCosmetics.com right now and is priced at $28.

What are your thoughts on the new Bella Bamba face color?  Will you be picking one up?

Benefit 1 Year Anniversary On HSN

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on September 24, 2010

Benefit Cosmetics is celebrating its first anniversary on HSN.  I just happened to be channel surfing when I saw Annie and Maggie (the Benefit gals) on HSN.  I checked out HSN.com to see what kind of anniversary deals Benefit had for the occassion.  There are 3 event priced items plus shipping has been reduced to $2.50 on all Benefit products.  The event priced items are the Benefit Cosmetics Lip Gloss Trio ($24.50), Benefit Cosmetics Face Powder Contouring Set ($38), and Benefit Cosmetics Benetint with Anniversary Gift ($28 with a 2 easy pay offer).  The anniversary gift that comes with the Benetint is a full sized bottle of Benefit’s perfume B-Spot.  The event pricing on all 3 of these kits is pretty substantial when you look at the retail price of the individual items.  Just 1 Benefit Lip Gloss is $18 and just one of the face powders is $28.  And I think the B-Spot perfume is normally $40.

Maggie and Annie will be back on HSN later tonight with another show at 6:00 pm central time.  If you are a fan of Benefit you may want to tune in or at least check out the special anniversary priced items online.

Benefit Scene Queen The New Annie Collection

Posted by anotherbeautyblogger on June 24, 2010

Benefit seems to be one of those cosmetics brands that you either love or hate.  If you ask a room full of beauty addicts what they think about Benefit half will go on and on about how Benetint is a sham of a product and the cheek colors are nasty looking while the other half will talk about how great the palettes are and how great the cheek colors are.  I happen to love most of the products I’ve tried from Benefit.  The colors are gorgeous, the packaging is fun, and their palettes often contain everything you need to create a complete look.  Plus you get tons of product that just seems to last and last.  Benefit’s latest palettes are no exception.

Benefit’s new Scene Queen The New Annie Collection is stunning.  It contains four eye shadows in Charcoal, Shimmering Beige, Misty Blue, and Navy, cheek color in Coralista with a mini natural bristle brush, lip shine in Juicy Coral, Smokin’ Liner eyeliner, High Beam luminating enhancer, two Fluff Shadow/Hard Angle brushes, and a step-by-step make-up guide.  My favorites are the eye shadows.  There is just enough shimmer in them to catch and reflect the light without being overly glittery.  No need to save these for nights out, they’ll work at the office too.  The possibilities are really endless with the products and colors you get in this collection.  Everything from a sexy smoky eye to a more natural professional look can be achieved.

I love love LOVE that Benefit frequently packages their palettes in adorable compact little boxes.  They are so easy to stash in your desk at work so that you’ll have something to reach for when you need a touch up for an unexpected meeting or for happy hour after a long day at work.  Also, I love that this palette has such a giant mirror.  One of my gripes with all-in-one palettes is that sometimes the mirror is so small and is of such a low quality that you can barely see your entire eye in the reflection.  This is not a problem here.

Benefit Scene Queen The New Annie Collection is a limited edition palette.  It retails for $38.
